How to Retrieve your Lost EID/UID

  1. Check the link to UIDAI given above. It will directly take you to the page where you can get back your lost EID/UID number.
  2. Once the tool gets open, choose the option you wish to retrieve. You can either get your EID number or UID number. If you have enrolled for the first time, choose EID option. If you are already having Aadhar, choose UID option.
  3. Now enter your full name here as mentioned in Aadhaar/ Enrolment ID.
  4. Now either type in your email or your mobile to get the OTP. (Note: The one you enter here should be registered with your Aadhaar)
  5. Now, fill in the Security Code in the box same as you see in the image.
  6. Click on send OTP.
  7. You’ll receive the OTP. Enter the OTP in the Right corner box.
  8. Select verify OTP.
  9. Now you’ll see a pop-up message on screen "Congratulation! Your Aadhaar Number (UID) is sent to your Mobile."

Download Aadhar Card Online by Aadhar Number

Here you need to have a Virtual ID. This is a 16 digit temporary revocable number mapped with Aadhar number. VID is an alternate form of UID. You can use VID to authenticate transactions and handle your customer (KYC) services instead of providing your Aadhaar number.

  9. In case, you use the mAadhaar app, you can opt for TOTP.
